Is Water Better Than Sports Drinks?

Let's get one thing straight. I didn't concoct Electra Sports Beverages in my kitchen. Oh, sure, I created the concept but the actual formulation was done professionally by a food scientist named Jaime, who's formulated some of the country's top health-centric beverages.

One of the first questions asked when I hired Jaime was, "Why wouldn't I just drink water?" After all, that's the big objection to drinking sports drinks, right? Jaime's answer was simple: Because water doesn't supply the body with the full array of nutrients needed to rehydrate, rebuild, recover or replenish what's lost during exercise or activity.

But exercise isn't the only reason we reach for sports drinks is it?

Water, while a wonderful beverage is sometimes kinda boring. I do agree that water is better than sugary drinks that could lead to excessive calories and substantially increase your obesity in adults and children.

But that's why Electra is different. It's healthy hydration packed with vitamins B, C, and D, plus a foundation that includes watermelon water concentrate and coconut water - -both great for their hydration properties.

In fact, Electra is a great option for more than just a pre or post workout beverage. Our customers have reported drinking it for...

  • Prehydration
  • Rehydration
  • Pre-workout
  • Enhance performance
  • Vitamin infusion
  • Hangover reduction
  • Electrolyte replacement
  • Increase endurance
  • Mental acuity
  • Fluid replacement
  • Soda replacement
  • Coffee replacement
  • Caffeine replacement

Even with these great benefits, we know that the proper balance of healthy beverages is what we should all strive toward -- and that balance must include water. Where Electra has an edge over water is that it provides opportunities for us to get other nutrients into our bodies. For some of us, it's the only way we might be able to get multiple vitamins, minerals and amino acids critical to making it through a busy day without the dreaded crash.
